Mikvah – Roeh Nevo
The construction of the mikvah began in 2020 and it was opened for use by the residents in 2021 and is being used by all 33 families living there.
Roeh Nevo is located north of the Dead Sea on Highway 90, near the army base “Mul Nevo” and “Beit Hogla” farm. The location of the town is important and strategic, since there aren’t many Jewish towns between the Jordan and Jericho city along the along the Jordan Valley.
The need for a mikvah is very important in light of the isolated location of the town. Having a Mikvah within a walking distance has made it easier and safer to use, especially on Shabbat, and the woman feel blessed to have a pleasant and elegant Mikvah nearby.
In many communities, the construction of mikvaot (ritual baths) has been halted due to budgetary constraints. The Shivat Zion Israeli Charity Trust has undertaken to complete these projects by mobilizing additional funding sources. The completion of construction has enhanced the well-being of the residents of these communities, enabling them to go to the Mikva locally, without the need to travel at night on security-compromised roads.
