Tehillim Booklets to New IDF Recruits – In Partnership with UFIS Jerusalem
Shivat Zion Trust has answered a call from UFIS Jerusalem (Union for Israel’s Soldiers) by providing 6,000 Tehillim (Psalms) booklets for distribution to new IDF recruits at the induction ceremonies at Ammunition Hill.
Each year, UFIS Jerusalem volunteers are present at the recruitment center, giving every new soldier a Tehillim booklet and a letter of blessing from the mayor and the organization, wishing them well as they begin this important journey.
The tradition of presenting each recruit with a Tehillim is rooted in the belief in the spiritual protection and strength that the Psalms offer, accompanying and safeguarding soldiers as they face the challenges of military service.
Heartfelt responses from recruits and their families reinforce the understanding that gifting a Tehillim is a meaningful and deeply valued gesture, connecting them to their heritage and community as they enter their service.
Shivat Zion Israeli Charity Trust is proud to be part of this initiative, supporting new recruits as they take their first steps in defending the Jewish people and the State of Israel.
