Beit She’an is a city in the North District, in the Beit She’an Valley, east of the Jezreel Valley, located on Highway 90, about 25 kilometers south of the Sea of Galilee.
Beit Shean is one of the oldest cities in the Land of Israel, its beginnings about 4,000 years ago. The new local council was declared a city in 1999.
